State health and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has today made an appeal to all the landlords and owners of private hostels, paying guests to consider concession of rent during COVID-19 lockdown period.
While addressing a press meet at NHM Office in Guwahati, he said that though this cannot be given as a direction, yet it was an appeal to all those who have given their house on rent in Assam to be a little compassionate and grant atleast 50 percent concession in house rent for the month of April.

Two urgent requests 🙏
1. Landlords of PG for students may kindly consider 50% waiver in rent for April
2. Landlords housing pvt sector employees may please be considerate since salaries disbursals are affected
It will be a kind help. Grateful in anticipation.
The waiver, he said, should be specially given to the students who stay as paying guests and private employees.
