APSC Challan
Usually, to apply any posts under Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), candidates have to make APSC Challan payment. APSC Challan can be prepared in two methods: treasury challan and online challan. In this topic we will discuss about how to make APSC Challan: Online and Offline .
APSC Treasury Challan : Pay Offline
This is the old and most popular method to pay APSC challan. In this method, one has to visit nearby treasury or sub-treasury office with physical copy of treasury challan .

Methods to fill up APSC Treasury Challan
Step 1: First get three copies of treasury challan- one is your personal copy, 2nd for bank and third for APSC.
Step 2: Fill it up accordingly. [Refer to above pics]
Step 3: First column: Name of the person who come to treasury: self or person name.
Step 4: Second column: Name/ address of the person on whose behalf money is to be paid.
Step 5: 3rd column: Details of the examination fee: post name, department, etc.
Step 6: 4th column: Challan amount.
Step 7: 5th column: Head of account. e.g., “NON TAX REVENUE, OTHER NON TAX REVENUE 0051 PSC, 105 STATE PSC APPLICATION FEE RECEIPT OF APSC”
Step 8: After that signed it and submit it to treasury or sub-treasury.
Step 9: Treasury officer/ official will put a stamp on the challan and put a challan number the treasury challan.
Step 10: At the last stage you have to visit designated bank branch/es to deposit challan amount. Bank will put a stamp on the challan copies.
APSC Challan : Pay Online
Now job seekers and students can pay APSC Challan online. Govt. of Assam has started a new portal under #DigitalAssam initiative. All you have to visit Finance Department (FD), Government of Assam's Government Receipt Accounting System - eGRAS portal.
Here's the basic steps to pay APSC challan online
Step 1: Scroll down, go to Important web links section.
Step 2: Click on Online APSC Challan link.
Step 3: assamegras.gov.in portal will be opened.
Step 4: Here, you have two option: you can proceed without registration or with registration. Choice is yours. But, we suggest to use with registration.
Step 5: Suppose, we proceed with without registration option.
Step 6: Here, you have 4 fields: Department Details, Account Details, Payer Details and Payment Details.
Step 7: All fields are self explanatory. For APSC candidates, department details section has to be filled as given in the following image.
Step 8: At Payment Details section, you have to give any one payment option: e-Payment, Payment Across Bank Counter (Cash/Cheque) or SBI epay Payment Gateway.
Step 9: AT present, only four (4) are available:
a) SBI
b) HDFC
c) ICICI
d) Axis
Step 10: After hitting Submit button, a draft challan will be generated. Check the draft challan for error/s if any.
Step 11: Next select payment mode: say online/ internet banking and proceed.
Step 12: A Government Reference Number (GRN) will be generated. User must ensure that the 18 digit GRN generated is properly noted and saved.
Step 13: Next after making payment, APSC challan will be generated.
Step 14: At remarks column, candidate may write post applied for.
Payment methods for APSC Challan Online
The User is allowed to choose from a range of payments as displayed below including POS, Cash, NEFT/RTGS, Mobile Payments, Net Banking, UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card, Wallet and PayPal.
