With effect from 1st January 2021, Govt of Assam will provincialized 197 High School, 9 Higher Secondary and 149 Junior College or Senior Secondary under Directorate of Secondary Education.
The 1st List of such schools will be uploaded on 15th August 2020.
The same was announced by education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at a press meet in Guwahati on Saturday.
“The first list of provincialised colleges and schools will be published on August 15. The second list will be published in October. But it will be effective from next January 1,” Dr. Sarma said.

He further added that the first list includes 355 high schools, junior colleges, 3359 teachers under directorate of senior secondary, 30 colleges, 931 college teachers including left over teachers.
